What is Postnatal Care

Postnatal care refers to support services provided by professionals such as doctors and midwives to help maintain the physical and mental health of the mother and baby. At Tokyo Birth Clinic, alongside delicious meals, we provide time for you to relax via medical care and beauty treatments by specialized staff.

Because our postnatal care centre is affiliated with a medical institution, we can uniquely deliver “medical + beauty + dining” all in one place. Our theme is not only “recovery of body and mind,” but “regaining your own self.”

ワンストップ（one-stop）」とは、必要な手続きやサービスを1か所ですべて済ませられる仕組みや体制のこと。

Types of Postnatal Care

We offer two types of care plans so you can choose according to your lifestyle and pace of recovery: day-use and stay-over.

Day-Use Plan

This plan allows you to come from home. You can gradually adjust to life with your baby while taking time to relax, with beauty treatments, meals, and medical support to help balance body and mind.

A fully private room stay plan. In an environment where you can balance childcare and rest, you can focus on recovering your body and mind while cherishing time with your baby—like a postpartum retreat.

Who Is Eligible to Use the Postnatal Care

• Mothers who gave birth at Tokyo Birth Clinic, and those who gave birth at other hospitals or returned from “satogaeri” births can use the service.
• If you are using the service together with your baby, babies up to 3 months old are accepted.

Family accommodation is possible

Your spouse or children may stay while you receive care.

Because our postnatal care centre is attached to a medical institution, we can broadly respond to concerns—from breastfeeding and childcare to physical conditions. Midwives and physicians are on site, offering examinations and advice as needed. In addition, beauty professionals are stationed in the centre, offering services such as postnatal esthetic care, baby massage, head spa, hair treatment, and nail care. We sincerely support mothers’ wishes to “stay beautiful” after childbirth. Meals during your stay will be provided with pride by our executive chef.

Features of Our Postnatal Care Esthetics

A woman’s body after childbirth is more delicate than assumed, so recovery needs time and careful care. The pelvis especially becomes looser or more easily misaligned due to pregnancy and childbirth. With proper postpartum care, you may prevent or improve fatigue, back pain, bodily shape changes, etc.

At our clinic, specialized postpartum estheticians perform three gentle, body-friendly treatments designed for postnatal bodies:

1. Craniosacral (gentle touch to regulate autonomic nerves)
2. Lymph drainage (detox care to help flush waste)
3. Garshana massage (dry massage using silk gloves that promotes circulation and metabolism)

Gentle stimulation and reassurance for your baby through professional technique

Effects for the baby: The massage’s gentle stimulation may support brain development while improved circulation can enhance metabolism and immunity. It may help stabilize digestion and lead to deeper sleep; and help with overall relaxation.

Effects for the mother: Touching your baby’s soft skin and seeing their joyful expressions can help calm your mind and body postpartum. It may promote the release of oxytocin and endorphins (hormones of love / happiness), boosting confidence and positive feelings toward childcare.

Postnatal Urinary Incontinence Treatment Details

“EMSELLA” treatment for urinary incontinence.

Recover from your pelvis, reclaim healthy confidence

Many women who have given birth experience “urinary leakage”—a discomfort felt when coughing, sneezing, jumping, or laughing. This may be a natural sign of loosened pelvic floor muscles. At Tokyo Birth Clinic, we have introduced “EMSELLA,” a non-surgical, painless, fully clothed urinary incontinence treatment device.

What is EMSELLA?

A cutting-edge pelvic floor muscle strengthening technology used in over 70 countries.

Using HIFEM (high-intensity focused electromagnetic) technology, it intensively stimulates deep pelvic floor muscle groups. By simply sitting in a chair for one session, you can achieve contraction equivalent to ~11,000 Kegel exercises unconsciously. This can improve postpartum urinary leakage, tighten the vagina, stabilize the pelvic floor, and may also lead to improved posture and quality of sexual life.
