Fetal Detailed Ultrasound Examination

The Fetal Detailed Ultrasound Examination involves a comprehensive ultrasound beyond the detailed assessment of a routine prenatal check-up ultrasound, used to manage your pregnancy and determine the delivery method.

We offer detailed ultrasound examinations during the middle stage of pregnancy to thoroughly assess the baby’s body structure and organ morphology, typically performed between 20 and 30 weeks. We confirm the developmental status of the heart, brain, internal organs, face, and limbs, and carefully evaluate the presence of congenital abnormalities. Our clinic uses the “World’s Top-Class Ultrasound Equipment (GE Voluson Expert 22),” and experienced physicians are responsible for diagnosis.

Gestational Weeks for Consultation:

• Around 18 to 22 weeks of pregnancy
• Around 28 to 32 weeks of pregnancy

Genetic Clinic

To ensure you correctly understand prenatal diagnosis, NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing) assesses the risk of the baby having a chromosomal abnormality using the mother’s blood.

For patients who desire counseling regarding prenatal diagnosis before and after the test, we provide careful Genetic Counseling by certified physicians. We provide thorough support, including explaining the test’s meaning and limitations and how to interpret the results, while staying close to the family’s values and feelings.

Gestational Weeks for Consultation:

10 weeks of pregnancy and beyond

Common Consultations:

• “I am unsure whether to undergo NIPT.”
• “I don’t fully understand the meaning of the results and feel anxious.”

Newborn and Infant Clinic (2-Week and 1-Month Check-ups)

This is a specialist clinic for assessing the baby’s health after birth.

A specialized pediatrician, with many years of experience in immediate postpartum care, examines the baby to confirm that they are growing well after birth. We value thorough explanations and empathy so families feel comfortable consulting us about minor concerns.

Eligibility:

Babies at 2 weeks old and 1 month old

What we check:

• 2-Week Check-up (Breastfeeding/formula feeding, jaundice, weight gain, etc.)
• 1-Month Check-up (Parenting consultation, developmental confirmation, breast milk/formula, etc.)

Common Consultations:

• “I am worried about my baby’s weight gain.”
• “My baby still looks jaundiced.”
• “I am having trouble breastfeeding/I am worried if the baby is getting enough milk.”
• “I am concerned about the frequency or color of the baby’s stools.”

Consultations regarding general childcare, including the mother’s own health, are also welcome.

Our Fees:

• 2-Week Check-up: 5,500 yen
• 1-Month Check-up: 7,700 yen

Baby Visit Echo (3D/4D Ultrasound Clinic)

This is a clinic where you can see your baby anytime you want, even outside of your prenatal check-ups.

This clinic specializes in 3D/4D ultrasound, which allows you to see the baby’s appearance and movements in three dimensions. You can see their smiling face, hand and foot movements, and yawning in real-time, which further deepens the bond with your baby.

Tokyo Birth Clinic utilizes the World’s Top-Class Ultrasound Equipment (GE Voluson Expert 22) for our 3D/4D ultrasound clinic.

We can provide photos of your baby upon request and allow you to view the examination video on your smartphone. Please utilize this service as a precious memory during your pregnancy and as a special time to nurture the bond with your family and baby.

Recommended Gestational Weeks:

Around 24 weeks of pregnancy and beyond

Common Consultation/Purpose:

• “I want to see the baby’s face clearly.”
• “I want to keep photos and videos as a memento.”
• “I want to view the baby’s condition together with my older children and family.”

A	The Fetal Detailed Ultrasound Examination is a medically necessary test performed by a physician to diagnose congenital abnormalities. The Baby Visit Echo Clinic, on the other hand, is a commemorative examination intended for viewing the baby’s appearance and movements in 3D/4D.
Q	Can I take home the photos and videos taken at the Baby Visit Echo?
A	Yes. In addition to a printout of the still images, you can view the video on your smartphone. Our staff will guide you on how to use the dedicated app.
Q	Can babies born at other hospitals be seen at the Newborn and Infant Clinic?
A	Yes, babies born at any hospital are welcome. Please feel free to consult us about any concerns you have regarding your baby’s growth or feeding.
