About Our Abortion Treatment

Pain Reduction During Treatment

To minimize pain for our patients, our early-stage abortions (up to 11 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy) are performed under general anesthesia. Mid-term abortions (12 weeks of pregnancy and beyond) are performed using a labor-induction method, but you may choose a painless treatment option using epidural anesthesia (painless labor/delivery).

Uterus-Friendly Surgical Method

Our early-stage abortion procedure utilizes the suction method, which is gentle on the uterus. We exercise meticulous care to minimize uterine damage from the abortion treatment, ensuring the procedure does not lead to future infertility.

Same-Day Abortion Surgery Available on Initial Visit

We strive to reduce the physical and emotional burden on our patients as much as possible, while understanding their feelings and circumstances. As part of this, if desired, it is possible to perform the induced abortion on the day of your initial visit. We respond flexibly to various circumstances, such as: “I want the procedure done as quickly as possible,” “I want to minimize the physical and emotional burden,” or “It is difficult for me to visit the clinic multiple times.” Of course, we provide medical care with safety in mind, only after giving a thorough explanation and receiving your consent first. Please feel free to consult us with peace of mind.

(Note 1) Patients who wish to have an abortion on the day of their initial visit are not required to be accompanied by their partner if they print and complete the “Consent Form” from the “Fees” section below and bring it with them.

*Please select the appropriate consent form for either Early-Stage or Mid-Term abortion.

(Note 2) Patients who wish to have an abortion on the day of their initial visit must pay a reservation deposit in advance. Please pay the deposit with a credit card in advance via the online reservation app. Upon your arrival for the surgery, you will be required to pay the remaining balance, which is the total cost of the procedure minus the reservation deposit.

*Since we must secure sterile equipment, the operating room, and medications for the surgery, please note that the deposit is non-refundable if the cancellation is due to the patient’s circumstances. A refund will only be issued if the clinic determines it is necessary based on the results of the medical examination.

For Early-Stage Pregnancy: The Option of Medical Abortion

Our clinic also offers Medical Abortion (abortion by pill) for patients in the early stages of pregnancy. This new treatment method uses specialized abortion medication to end the pregnancy, providing an option for those who wish to minimize the physical burden or who are anxious about surgery. We use abortion medication approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the treatment is performed while confirming safety and effectiveness. The treatment is completed under a physician’s supervision, requiring several clinic visits and examinations.

Recommended for Patients who:

  • Are hesitant about surgery
  • Wish to proceed with treatment at their own pace
  • Desire a medication-based abortion under a physician’s supervision

Please note that there are certain conditions for medical abortion. Depending on your gestational week or health condition, this option may not be available. Please consult with us first.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

QCan I have the abortion surgery on the day of my initial visit?
AYes. At our clinic, if there are no issues with the gestational week, your physical condition, or test results, surgery on the day of your initial visit is possible. We are flexible in accommodating those with urgent needs or special circumstances. We recommend that you consult us by phone in advance.
QWhat is the surgical method used?
AWe perform the procedure using the uterine contents removal procedure (suction method). Prioritizing safety, it is a short, same-day surgery performed under intravenous anesthesia, minimizing pain and anxiety.
QHow much does it cost, and does insurance cover it?
AAbortion surgery is an elective medical service (self-pay), and health insurance does not apply. The cost varies depending on the gestational week and the procedure details.
QHow long does the surgery take, and how soon can I go home after the surgery?
AThe surgery itself takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Including recovery from anesthesia, the total time from arrival to departure is approximately 3 to 4 hours, though this varies from person to person.
QDo I need to be accompanied by someone?
ASince intravenous anesthesia is used, you cannot drive a car or bicycle on the day of the surgery. Please come with an accompanying person, or use public transportation. You may go alone, but please strictly follow the instructions provided for your safety. We regret to inform you that we do not have a waiting room for accompanying guests. Thank you for your understanding.
QHow soon can I return to my everyday life after the surgery?
APlease spend the day of the surgery resting quietly at home. Light daily activities are possible from the next day, but please refrain from strenuous exercise and sexual intercourse for about 1 week. If you experience any concerning symptoms, please contact us promptly.
QIs there a risk of becoming unable to conceive after the surgery?
AWhen performed appropriately in the early stage of pregnancy, an abortion surgery has virtually no significant impact on future pregnancy or childbirth. However, post-operative follow-up is essential to prevent infection and complications.
QWhat is required to undergo the abortion surgery?
AA Consent Form is required. Also, by law, minors (under 18 years old) must have a parental consent form and be accompanied by a guardian. If you have been issued a Maternal and Child Health Handbook, please bring it with you just in case.
QMy period has stopped, but I don’t know if I’m pregnant. Can I just get a test?
AYes, we perform pregnancy confirmation tests (urine test, ultrasound) to check for pregnancy status at any time. Please feel free to consult us first.
QIs post-abortion emotional care available?
APhysical and emotional care is critical. Our clinic offers post-operative consultation and follow-up by physicians and midwives. We can also provide referrals to external counselors or specialized institutions as needed.
