About Contraception Consultation

Choosing the Contraceptive Method That’s Right for You

Contraception is an important choice that protects your mind and body during times when you do not wish to become pregnant. At Tokyo Birth Clinic, our physicians provide careful counseling to share accurate knowledge about contraception and propose methods that suit your lifestyle and health status.

Types of Contraceptive Methods and Guidance

We offer consultation, prescription, and procedures for the following contraceptive methods at our clinic. If you have any concerns or specific wishes, please do not hesitate to consult us:

Low-Dose Pills (OC)

This method offers high contraceptive effectiveness when taken once daily. It also provides secondary benefits, such as alleviating menstrual pain and PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome), and stabilizing the menstrual cycle. For the initial prescription, we measure blood pressure, conduct a medical interview, and perform necessary tests to ensure you can take the medication safely.

Emergency Contraception (Morning-After Pill)

This is an emergency method of contraception used after unprotected intercourse, or when primary contraception has failed. It is recommended to take the pill within 72 hours, making it necessary to seek consultation as soon as possible.

We offer same-day prescriptions and also provide online consultations for this service.

Intrauterine Devices (IUD / Mirena)

This method involves inserting a small device into the uterus, providing continuous contraceptive effectiveness for several years. It is suitable for those who “don’t want to forget to take a pill” or “want reliable, long-term contraception.” Hormonal IUS (Mirena) can also offer the benefit of reducing menstrual volume and alleviating menstrual pain.

Common Concerns

Contraception is not just about “in case of emergency”; it is a crucial part of medical care that enables you to live life on your own terms. We will work with you to find a method that protects you now while considering your future pregnancy plans.

  • I’m worried about the side effects of the pill. Is it really safe?
  • What happens if I forget to take a pill?
  • Can I get an IUD even if I haven’t given birth?
  • I can’t discuss contraception easily with my partner.
  • Which method is right for me?

We will address these concerns by combining a medical perspective with empathy for the patient’s feelings.

Our Commitment to Peace of Mind

Feelings like “I’m embarrassed” or “I might be scolded” are entirely unnecessary.

Consulting about contraception is about valuing your body and your future. At Tokyo Birth Clinic, we respect all concerns and welcome you into a comfortable environment.

  • A strict appointment system and private-room consultations ensure privacy.
  • Female physicians are available for consultation upon request.
  • We do not prescribe unnecessarily or propose options unilaterally. We strictly respect your personal will.
